Dr. Angevine's Bio

Dr. Angevine is a member of The Spine Hospital at The Neurological Institute of New York. He has received specialized fellowship training in the evaluation and treatment of pediatric and adult spinal deformities.

Dr. Angevine’s unusual training reflects his belief that a surgeon with the most comprehensive training is best able to treat spinal disorders effectively. After completing his residency in neurological surgery at The Neurological Institute of New York, Dr. Angevine became the first neurosurgeon to be admitted to and complete the prestigious fellowship in spine surgery at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis emphasizing the operative treatment of complex spinal deformities. As a result of this training he brings to each patient the expertise necessary to evaluate and, if required, treat disorders of spinal alignment such as scoliosis or sagittal imbalance.

Dr. Angevine’s special interests include Adult & Pediatric Spinal Deformities, Neuromuscular Spinal Deformities, Complex Revision Spinal Surgery and Global & Regional Sagittal Imbalance.

Dr. Angevine’s office is open from 9-5pm, Monday through Friday. To request an appointment by phone, please call his office at (212) 305-1550. His office coordinator, Santa Forero will take your call. You will be asked to fax (212) 342-6850 or mail your recent imaging (MRI, CAT scan) reports to our office for his review. It is also helpful to include a brief summary of your history and symptoms. Any question regarding insurance or coverage can be answered at that time.

Dr. Angevine will review your reports within 24 hours and you will be contacted for an appointment or appropriate referral. Depending on the urgency of your condition, an appointment with Dr. Angevine can be made within a few days. To assure that all patients receive a thorough evaluation and the best care in a timely manner, the patient should complete forms regarding their medical history and condition.
